Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel Is there a way to change the margin on one column only of a multi-column document?

Columns do not have margins. Pages have margins. You can change the
width and spacing of columns to achieve what you probably are looking
for. Menu: Format/Columns and see settings there.

Hi Rob;

Although your reply is technically accurate it might be useful to point out
that because Columnar text is still based on paragraphs, Left/Right/Hanging
Indents can be applied to give the effect of 'margins'.

Probably is useful. Didn't think of that, frankly. Based on what the
OP said, I saw the full solution in manipulating the page marging and
the column widths and spacing, esp. the one column that needed something
different.

Thank you both. Now I have a further question. Is there a way to have columns in the publishing mode?

No :)

Sorry :)

Thank you both. Now I have a further question. Is there a way to have
columns in the publishing mode?

Well, don't take John literally :). You can have columns, just not in the
same way. The mechanics & dynamics of Pub Layout are totally different.

Create multiple text boxes sized, spaced and aligned as you want the columns
then Link the text boxes. (You can also link text boxes which are on
different pages in order to continue a story.)

Also, you can create a table if you want side-by-side content rather than
snaking (newspaper-style) columns.
