Word Count icon not appearing

I just went to do a world count for the first time in a while. It's not on
the Review bar. I checked help and, sure enough, it sent me back there. I
tried to customize the proofing section, but didn't see an option to add it
back.

How do I get word count back?

This is Word 2007, right? If the Word window is resized narrower than a
certain width, the groups in the ribbon start collapsing, first by losing
the labels and then by repositioning and/or resizing the buttons. The Word
Count button should still be there in the lower right corner of the Proofing
group, but you might have to position the mouse over it and look at the
tooltip to identify it. It looks like the letters ABC on top of the number
123.

You can also display a running word count in the status bar at the bottom of
the window (_not_ the Review ribbon). Right-click the status bar and click
to check the Word Count item in the popup menu.

Are you sure you aren't just looking past it? The Word Count tool is
represented by a small icon in the lower right corner of the Proofing group
immediately to the right of the Translate tool. AFAIK there is no way to
remove it *or* add it back by way of features within the program. If it is
indeed missing from the Ribbon there is some sort of technical issue that
will need to be addressed - perhaps through the Registry.

BTW: Are you aware that you can add Word Count to the Status Bar
(right-click the bar) & by clicking the Word Count space it will launch the
Word Count info window?
