word count

I am trying to count a particular word in a word document and highlight it.
I would also like to superscript the word with the number count at which it
occurs.

Any help appreciated.

For the counting a particular word, you could try this ...

Let's say if you want to count how many times has the word 'Excel' has
appeared.

First press Ctrl + H to display the Find and Replace window.
Then enter 'Excel' in both of the Find what and Replace with fields.
Then click the button More.
Under Search Options, check Find whole words only.
Then click Replace All.
After the counting has finished, the dialog box would appear, telling you
how many items has been replaced (i.e. the times that the word has appeared)

This would not change the content of your document since you have replaced a
word witht the exact same word. (i.e. In this case. replace Excel with Excel)
