I've recently installed 11 computers, all with win2k sp4
and office 97 and have encountered the same problems on
all machines. I've been able to solve many of the
problems including changing registry security settings so
that local users have modify priviledges on the proofing
tools (as "Spelling & Grammar" tab was greyed out on
options menu). The remaining issues I have are:
1) When a word is found on a spell check that is unknown,
users cannot add the word to the dictionary. Changes on
the permissions on the dictionary's containing folder do
not remain permanently.
2) When a local excel file is opened using the double
clicked method, Excel opens the file, then reports that
the file is already open.
