Word document size question

Mick

I have a Word document with images in it. Is there any way to save the
document so that it will be smaller and not lose the quality of the images ?
I don't mean zipping the document. Thanks for any replies.

Hi Mick,

In general, saving Word documents the graphics are compressed to their disk storage size. If you use the Compress pictures feature
you may reduce the quality.

If you use Insert=>Picture=>From File and use the 'link' option then your documents will be smaller but you'll need to remember to
have access to the linked graphics.

Hi, Mick,

What Bob said. But also see
http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com/powerpointgraphics.htm This tutorial was
designed for PowerPoint, but it's relevant to anything that would be shown
on screen. I think it will help you, though. It's possible you can make your
pictures smaller pixel-wise for your document, but it's hard to say without
knowing the size of the original images and the size they are on the page.
