Word documents show up as gibberish in HTML E-mails

I have one user trying to send a Word XP document to
another user as an attachment in an HTML e-mail from
Outlook XP. When the user receives the e-mail the Word
document appears as gibberish. If the user sends the same
e-mail & attachment in a plain-text e-mail everything is
received fine.

Both users are using Win XP Pro and Office XP. I can send
the same e-mail, same document to the user in an HTML e-
mail just fine, but I am using Win 2000, and Office 2000.

Any suggestion on this? Any chance the mail server could
be messing this up? Using MDaemon for the mail server.
