Word does not open the files including tableau (board or chart)

My OfficeWord open the simple ms office word files (i mean the content is
simple, like there is only an essay) however it does not open some spesific
files which it used to have. for instance my CV is not opening anymore. it
includes some different character types or tables. i don't know what the
problem is.Can anybody please help me?

Hi Claire,

What version of Word are you using?

Are you opening these files through the Open dialog in Word?

If you are getting an error message when opening the files, what is the message?

If you start Word while holding the control key then open the files do you get the same result?
