Word, excel attachments gets stuck in the outbox

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble when sending Word, excel attachments in
Outlook 2000. After I click the send button it stays in
the Outbox for a while, sometimes I have top open the
message from the outbox and hit the send button again. Is
there something that can be done? Please help me with this
problem I will appreciate it.
