Word hyperlink to .pps file not opening show, but .pps file itsel.

When I open my .pps powerpoint presentation it opens, correctly, to the show.
When I click on the hyperlink in Word to that same file, the full screen
does not open as it does when opening the file directly. Does anyone know
how to make the hyperlink act the same as opening the .pps file itself?
