Word locking files

Doing automation inserting images in a word document.

When I quit the word object - Word keeps a lock on the files (images) for a
while - thus
not allowing me to delete the files (sharing violation)..

Is there any way to force Word to release the file locks right away?

I'm doing much the same thing, but not having any
problems with locked files. How are you attaching the
images? Are you using a special field or IncludePicture
in the document itself?
