Word Opens in Safe Mode

B

bribob88

I am constantly getting a message that states, "Word failed to start
correctly last time. Starting Word in safe mode will help you correct or
isolate a startup problem in order to successfully start the program. Some
functionality may be disabled in this mode".

Why is this doing this? When it does get around to loading, it's obscenely
SLOW! This is a new computer...Gateway M460 series...

Please respond to (e-mail address removed)...

Thanks,

Bob

Hi =?Utf-8?B?YnJpYm9iODhAeWFob28uY29t?=,

One important rule when participating in a discussion group is that you first
read some messages in the group to determine if yours is appropriate to the
group. If you'd done that, you'd have noticed that this group deals in
programming questions (VBA).

If you'd posted to a more appropriate group, you'd have probably gotten a
response. Try in word.setup.networking, office.setup OR
word.application.errors

Word is probably doing this because something is damaged. Try Help/Detect and
Repair, and if the problem continues, go to a more appropriate group where
you'll find people with experience in such problems. Be sure to state the
VERSION of Word you're using.
