WORD tables/forms

I created a table in WORD 2003 for posting on our
Intranet site. Its three pages long and looks and works
fine my XP machine. My colleagues who download the
document to their OFFICE 2000 (Win 2000) machines find
the form page layout has changed whereby the bottom of
the page runs off the page and does not flow into the
third page. It misses off the last two questions in the
form. My IT department are perplexed! Anyone out there
got any ideas? We've tried patching the OFFICE 2000
machine with SP3 but it has no effect.

Many thanks

My guess is you have to be real careful how close you get to the margins
because different computers have different "default" printers selected,
which have different margin limitations. Could it be that those having
problems have an inkjet or deskjet printer connected to their computer,
while you have a laserjet printer?

Thanks Bill,
Have checked this idea already and although there are
certainly different printers being used we have tried
changing default printer options to no avail...

Okay then. My next guess is that your document is using styles that are
based on the Normal style and other users have a different Normal style than
you do. For example, if your Normal style is Times New Roman - 12 pt -
single spacing - etc., and someone else has their Normal style set to Times
new Roman - 12 pt - 1.5 spacing (or possibly 6 pt before and 6 pt After),
there will be differences on those machines.

Check styles used and differences in those styles. This page might provide
some insight:

Thanks Bill - but no cigar!

My Normal template and their normal template seem to be
the same. (In fact I never make a concious decision to
ever change it) What about Internet Explorer. After all
the download always opens in their browser? I have to say
that we're all using v6 sp1 (Mine's for XP - theirs is
for W2000) though? Any other ideas?

Sorry, but I have run out of straws to grab at! Maybe someone else will pop
in with some insight. Of course you could create a PDF and have your
browser link to it. Grant it it is an extra step, but usually fixes layout
problems like this. Just a thought.

Make sure the form does not include any wrapped tables. Although in Word
2003 wrapped tables can be broken over pages, in Word 2000 they cannot.
Also, make sure that the Compatibility Options are set the same. For this
purpose, it might be best to set the Compatibility to Word 2000 in the Word
2003 document, as there are some table layout options that might be
affecting the result.
