Word wrapping does not expand the cell, why?

I am using excel 2002 and I created a spread sheet to be used as a sales call
report. I formatted one column of cells for text wrapping. This worked for a
while, but when I tried to use it today the cells no longer automatically
expand without double clicking the row to expand the width. Why is this
happening?
