WordArt – Publisher 2003

Seiko CK

I have spent several hours over a few days to check and read some related subjects, but only managed 20 pages out of 43 as I'm still on Dial-Up. If there is the same subject already discussed previously, please forgive me.

I always used Publisher very happily and recently I have changed the version from 2000 to 2003
When I open an existing file (made with Pub 2000) all the sizes and colours of work by WordArt change – e.g. much larger and all turn to black
As I could not find any settings to adjust these elements, I tried to change them manually back to what I intended to but I now come across another problem
It seems that there is a limit in number of letters that can be typed
Is there any optional setting anywhere or is it the way with Publisher 2003

Why I had to go through all these pages I don't know - there is "Search" facility! Use you eyes, silly girl... (don't worry, I am talking about myself.)

There is a registry change you can make to address this issue. Follow this

(It said "You're done", but my posting does not appear in the list... let me try again.

Brian,
Thank you very much for your advice. I followed the link and installed Add-In program and, yes, it displays correctly
But it created a different problem. I am now unable to edit any existing WordArt created with Pub2000. The pop-up message suggests either low disk space or need of program re-installation

A) Having studied the previous discussions I tried all the suggestions – program reinstallation, changing the settings of Norton AV, etc
None of these works.
This problem applies only to old work with Pub2000. Newly created files with Pub2003 works fine
As a test, I removed the Add-In program – yes, I can now edit old WordArt, but, of course, back to square one – it does not display correctly

Is this possibly a bug of Add-In program??

B) There still exists a limit in number of letters that can be typed in one WordArt frame
Is it supposed be normal

No, it's not a bug. This add-in was designed to convert your old WordArt
into a graphic. You will NOT be able to edit it. There will not be anything
up and coming that will address this problem. It's one of the headaches of
going with the latest and greatest.

What a swift response! Thank you.
Also thank you for your explanation. Now I understand the situation.
Well, well, it’s a pity. But I shall make the most of the new program, I’ll try anyway.

Brian, thank you very much again for your help.
