I went to http:\\www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en as you suggested. I couldn't find ActiveX components to download. I did see ActiveX Control Pad and ActiveX Data Objects. Are either of these what I am looking for?

I don't know how grey your hair is by now but mine is beyond grey. I get so
excited thinking this will work. Then it doesn't and I am sad. I did everything you
said to do. I was in the HKEY and deleted MS WordArt and MS WordArt2. Also went
back and deleted the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ and so on like I did before. Restarted
computer and does exacually the same thing as it as been doing.do you want to bring your computer around and I will fix it in five minutes for you.
If you go past that large tree at the end of the road you have gone to far and passed

When you run a Publisher PageWizard Design Assistant or attempt to insert a
WordArt object in a Publisher file, you receive the following error message:
complete this task.
You may still be able to insert WordArt text effects using other Microsoft Office 97 programs.
CAUSE
The Office 97 programs include a set of special text effects referred to as
WordArt. These WordArt text effects are different from the objects created by the
WordArt program that ships with Microsoft Publisher and earlier versions of Microsoft
Office.(Wordart32.exe). If that key is missing, or contains the wrong path, then you will
not be able to insert WordArt into Publisher.

Hey, did you folks give up on me? I still need help (I know, a lot of help). Do you think I need to reload my Operating System like the computer place said?

Mary,
If it were me I would completely uninstall Publisher 97, get a registry cleaner and
run it to find all references to Publisher and delete them and then reinstall.
Disable your printer before opening Publisher, see if that helps. Publisher is
critical about printer drivers. I can't believe this has anything to do with your
problem, however it can't hurt to try. I have installed every version of Publisher on
every computer I've ever had and never encountered this error. Have you considered an
updated graphics driver?
