Work XP Spell Checker query

J

JC

I have MS Office XP installed and the Spell Checker works just fine in
Access, Excel & Outlook Express, but not in WORD, keeps reporting "the
spelling check is complete", but it has missed several obvious spelling
errors, any idea how I can sort this and where does MSO XP keep it's main
spell dictionary?

Any help would be much appreciated, my first posting, so hope I'm in the
right newsgroup

TIA JC

Hi J.C.,

There can be several reasons for this.

1. You're using a 'decorative' font, where the individual
characters look to you like 'letters' but to the computer
they're actually 'pictures'.

2. The Word text is formatted to 'no language' or to a language
for which no proofing tool is available to Word
(Use the Reveal Formatting) Taskpane (Ctrl+F1) to check.

3. You may need to use the 'Recheck Document' button in
Tools=>Options=>Spelling & Grammar.

If you need additional information on that feature you may
want to also post in the Word Spelling & Grammar newsgroup
(link below). :)
