Workgroup templates - Enterprise deployment MVP?

We need to set up our workgroup and enterprise templates
for network and laptop dual operation. Where should we
locate the templates, and what processesdo we need to
implement to achieve this?

Hi Tim

Most of my clients keep all their templates on servers (both Workgroup and User
templates). As part of the notebook logon process, if the notebook is not connected to
the network the local drive is "substituted" (maps a drive letter to the local disk drive)
to mimic the network server folders where the templates are kept. The notebook logon also
takes care of any synchronisation required to update templates on the PC. My largest
client has literally hundreds of templates (ISO 900x organisation), only a critical subset
is downloaded to the notebook. This way Word works with just one configuration and the
environment adapts depending on whether the notebook is connected to the network.
