Right click the personal folder file item in the outlook bar. Click the
advanced button and the resulting dialog will show among other things the
file format.
And note that if the format is simply "Personal Folders File", it's a
Unicode Outlook 2003 .PST. Only the older format is more specific about
what format it is ;-)
