Wrong Durations

I have a small question.

I have a main project and sub projects with tasks for each sub project
For each sub project , the duration for that particular project is wron
for some reason. It shows for example: Nov 30 3:30 PM Dec 4 2:30 A
as 10.38 days.
We are a 24hr operation . To accomodate this i changed all the tas
information for all tasks to 24 hr in Calander.( is this wrong?)

Since the sub project's durations are wrong , the main project
duration is wrong.

Hi,

What Project knows as "a day" is defined in Tools, Options, Calendar. It is
not necessarily the time between two moments the sun passes through the
south.

The 24 hour calendar means that when once a task begins work on it won't
stop, it'll go on 24/7, until the task is done. But the tasks also are
usually broken down to where one task is defined as a package of work done
by one resource resulting in one deliverable. So according to your setup,
if Joe Shmoe is assigned to a 5 day duration task that starts Monday at 8am,
poor Joe would be the only person working on that task and he isn't going to
see his family, have a nap, or even get time for a sandwhich for five
continuous 24-hour days ... he'll be working like a beaver from Monday all
the way through to Saturday morning at 8am without even a single break. Are
you sure this is how you want to schedule your project?
