Wrong language in citations

E

Emil

When using the citation tool in Word 2007 with the APA format, the word
"page" is always in the system language, not the currently active language
within the document. As a result, all citations referencing pages will
automatically be wrong for anyone writing in a language other than the system
language. This seems to be a problem with the APA xsl format, not with the
function itself, as other formats handle this nicely.

In the "Edit Source" dialog, check the setting of the "Language" field. Word
localizes the 'common' words in a citation/bibliography based on the LCID
setting of the source.

So are you you certain the LCID of your source is set to the language you
are writing in?

This does indeed solve the problem; I am much obliged.

I still consider this a bug; it seems more intuitive for the language of the
citation to be determined by the language of the text in which it is used
than by the language of the work cited, but I suppose there may be some
convention to the contrary.

Seeing as this can be controlled for each individual source, it can be made
to do all that I need to.

Many thanks!
