Wrong order of date

Ingrid

I'm using frontpage XP and Access XP. If i make a database in access with
just a namefield and a field for the date in the order of day/month/year
everyhting seems to be fine. But when i'm using the same database in
frontpage the order becomes month/day/year. What am i doing wrong?

Hi,
MS databases assume mm/dd/yyyy format for dates, so something like
05/06/2004 would be 6 May not 5 June, the confusion comes when Access tries
to be helpful for example if you input 13/05/2004 Access figures you must
mean 13 May (obviously there's no month 13 - sql server would handle this
differently, but thats another story)

The only safe way is to enter dates as yyyy-mm-dd eg today is 2004-11-26 -
this format is understood by every database and leaves no room for
confusion.
