XP Component and Project Web Access 2002

I use MS Project Professional 2002 and Web Access 2002. In order to
us the Portfolio Analyzer I need to have XP Web Component. Does
anyone know if there's a workaround?

Greatly appreciate your help!

Hanhthy:

Project Pro 2002 *is* an Office XP application. Therefore, if you have Pro
installed on your computer, the system will install the full working version
of the Office Web Components when you hit the analysis pages for the first
time. If you've already got the runtime version of the OWCs installed on
your computer, you'll need to remove them to force a reinstall.

Gary: Thank you for your reply. Some of our user don't have a need
to use MS Project Professional, while they need MS Project Web Access;
for example the Excecutives. However without MS Professional, they
will not be able to use the Portfolio Analyzer if they don't have the
XP Component. Is there a workaround on it?

They can view the analyzer views with the runtime versions, they won't be
able to create or manipulate them by using drag and drop. The good news is
that most executives can't be bothered manipulating the views anyway and
expect people like you to that for them, so it might not be as big of an
issue as you think. If you do happen to have one of those rare execs that
likes to play with data, you've got more good someone to advocate for
your Office upgrade!
