changed ISP, changed inbound POP3 server, settings otherwise remain the same.
Upon send/receive, connects to POP server, logs in and identifies number of
emails to download - progress bar goes across with "messages remaining to be
received" after a minute - get error 16999 POP timeout from mail.server -
explanation - could not retrieve mail. account name .....

using webmail deleted all mail - sent test - still not receiving

Have disable Norton AV and firewall no change

Strange...

Error 16999 is a known error, and it is mentioned on the Entourage Help Page
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error16999>. However,
deleting all your messages via webmail should have done the job, so just to
be completely sure, log into your e-mail account via webmail and verify that
there are absolutely no e-mails remaining on your POP3 server. If that is
the case, and if you still get the error message, you might want to rebuild
your database. You can do that by holding down the option key when starting
up Entourage and selecting "Rebuild database" from the available options.
Note however that this should be used as a last resort only, since
rebuilding your database implies that you will lose all your category
associations.

Sorted - unlike mac mail and outlook on the PC Entourage required the
username to have @domain appended at the end - thanks for the help
