Examples of Setting Up Outline Codes and/or Best Practices for implementing Oultine Codes?

Hello,

Can anyone refer me to examples (books, web sites, etc) and/or best
practices guides for setting up enterprise outline codes? Our project
architecture setup is pretty simple and will be used primarily for
tracking tasks. However, most of our reports will be written via
crystal, and I'm looking to setup enterprise codes that will be used
to key these reports.
