2002 file saved as csv will not open under 2000

When a 2002 project file is saved as CSV it will not open
cleanly under Excel [10.4109.3501 SP1] 2002.
It posts an error box with some sort of SYLK warning.
Clicking through this, it seems to display as a typical
csv file. Why and can this be corrected?

Also this CSV file can not be imported in other 3rd party
applications that accept the MS Project 2000 CSV.
Any thoughts?

I can repro this and have sent it to someone on the Project team. I
will let you know what I find out.
