2002 Textbox and picture manipulation using macro

Hi,

a) When I want to insert a TextBox and go to -- Insert , Text Box -- then in
Office 2000 i could "draw" the textbox. Recently I upgraded to 2002 and when
I do -- Insert , Text Box -- then I get a big outline/border and inside it
there would be text saying "Create your drawing here". First of all, what
does word mean by *here*. I dont want Word to guess where I want to create
my textbox as it would be wrong. Now, if i ignore word's suggestion and
create the textBox at the location I want then outline/border and the text
"Create your drawing here" would disappear. Why does this happen. How to
tweak some option so that the intermediate "Create your drawing here" doesnt
trouble me.

b) I want to record a macro for the creation of a text-box and then insert a
auto-shape "line" with its one end on the newly created textbox. I go to
tools - record new macro- press enter- Insert , Text Box. After this I dont
get the textbox drawing ability. Its like the *control* is with the macro
and it doesnt let me draw any new picture or select any existing pictures.
How to resolve the same. I remember that when I had 2000 I could record this
macro without any problem. Also, I could record a macro for resizing
pictures by cropping them, which am not able to do in 2002. Problem is
before upgrading to 2002 I forgot to take the backup of Normal.dot file and
hence lost it.

Please guide me.

Thanks a lot,
Hari
