[2003] may contain out of sync actuals

Hello,

After each update of tasks via PWA, while I open Project Pro 2003, I get on
each task the following message :
"ProjectName.Published" may contain out of sync actuals.
The actual work in "ProjectName.Published" may be out of sync with the
actual work updated from timesheets. Do you
want to overwrite the actual work in this project with the values from the
Project Web Access timesheets for this project?
Note : we are using protected periods for timesheets.
What can be the cause of this error message?
Thansk for your help

First thing I would check is what service pack is your system and client on?
It is possible for the system to get into a state where it thinks actuals on
a project are out of synch. I can't say what exactlly causes this.
Sometimes it is user error, other times it can be a glitch in the tool (or
maybe due to client being on different service packs than the server). If
the synching error continues to occur each time you open the plan even after
asking it to re-synch actuals for you from PWA then I would say you need to
do the following if you want to fix the error.

1) Close project
2) Administrator needs to temporarily turn of managed time periods.
3) Open the project in quesion and re-publish with overwite actuals
4) Close project
5) Administrator needs to turn managed time periods back on

Not a very nice solution I know but I don't know that there are any other
solutions out there for this in MSPS 2003.
