24 hour calendar vs standard calendar

I have two schedules, one set up on a 24 hour calendar(manufacturing), one on
a standard calendar(engineering). When I insert the engineering calendar into
the manufacturing calendar the engineering duration in the duration column
changes (1/3 of engineering duration) The duration is correct in the Gantt
chart. Is there any way to dispay the duration from the engineering schedule
in the duration column of the manufacturing schedule?

RWR,
When you inserted the engineering schedule into the manufacturing
schedule, the engineering schedule took on the option settings for the
master (i.e. the manufacturing) and it is the hours per day setting
under Tools/Options/Calendar tab that determines how Project calculates
duration. I assume this setting is 24 hours for manufacturing. The only
way to see the original engineering duration is to create a separate
custom field for the engineering duration at the master level in the
engineering schedule (Note, it won't show up if you try to do it at the
master level). Since the ratio is 3 to 1 you could simply put the
following formula into a spare duration field:
Duration1 = [duration]/3.

The Gantt chart is "correct" because Gantt bars show span, and
regardless of the number of hours per day, the start and finish dates
for engineering are still the same and that is what the Gantt bar shows.

Hope this helps.

This helps a lot. Thanks for the info.
