A Variety of Problems with Entourage 2004

For about a week or so now, Entourage has been behaving strangely. Some
symptoms are
(1) I can¹t delete messages, or I have to delete several times in different
ways.
(2) A deleted message will go away and then reappear‹or perhaps there were
two messages originally and I just didn¹t see them. But this has happened so
much that I doubt I would have missed all of them.
(3) When I click Spam-Sieve to train a received message as spam or vice
versa (to train a message in my bulk mail folder as good), it will not go to
its designated location‹either the Inbox, if its good, or the Spam box, if
it¹s spam. And I have been getting more spam than usual.

I have tried restarting Entourage and restarting the computer, but the
problems persist. I know you are supposed to use the Rebuild feature
sparingly, so I have not done that yet. Would that help?

Yes! Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild
does make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup
get merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.
