A97 SR-2

My client has Access 97 SR-1. I want to upgrade him to SR-2. When I run the
Office SR-2b upgrade, it says he doesn't have Office installed. Of course, he
has individual products installed, but not Office in its entirety. How do I
accomplish this?

There were various updates to Windows that basically "broke" the ability to
install SR2 on a PC that already has SR1. The updates affected some of the
SR1 files and the SR2 installer gets confused about the current state of
what is installed.

When I had this issue a few years ago and made a support issue on it with
Microsoft their only solution was to send me a free Office 97 CD that had
SR2 already incorporated and then I had to completely uninstall Office 97
and then re-install from the new CD.

I can't say for certain that your issue is the same as what I encountered,
but it sounds pretty much like the error I had.
