Ability to subtask and indent gone in my project?

Hi all,

What would cause the ability to create subtasks to disappear? Both indent
or outdent buttons are grayed out no matter what I do.

If I paste the tasks into another project, I can start indenting. But in my
current project, I can not.

Any ideas?
