Indent Glitch

I need somebody to talk me down again. (I know. ALREADY?)

I'm 40 pages into a new document and I suddenly have an "indent
thing." The paragraph formatting as far as I can tell is Double
Space and Indentation (none).

I use this format because I had to hit the tab key for years to get a
paragraph indent and it's a hard habit to break. If I format MSW to
indent the first line, I often end up with the paragraph starting in
the middle of the page because I'll hit "tab," too, which is both
annoying and time consuming to fix -- much like things are going at
the moment.

This is the current problem. Whenever I hit "return" and then "tab"
to start a new paragraph, instead of indenting where it's been
indenting-- and exactly where I want it to indent-- it stops short of
that location, and I have to use the space bar to bring the cursor to
where all the other paragraphs start. My best guess is that I somehow
acquired a "Tab stop" there, but I don't know how to get it out.
