Action Buttons - Alternative Text

I want to be able to have an alternative description appear when pointing to
an action button. I know you can do this in properties but they only work
when your presentation is converted to a web page. Can yuou have alternative
text on an action button when just in powerpoint show mode?

There are few other workarounds too.
If you are using PowerPoint 2002/XP and above, you can use trigger animation.

In PPT 2002/2003: Use your Triggers capability in Custom Animations.

Create the shape or button that you want to use for the "Click"
Select the text that you want to appear when you client the shape or button
you just created
Click Slide Show > Custom Animation
Click Add Effect, then select entrance animation
In the Animation Task Pane, select the animation that you just created
Click the drop down arrow, select Timing
In the dialog box, click Triggers > Start effect on click of: [select the
shape you created in step 1 above]

Now the text will appear when you click on the shape/button.
