is there a way to retrieve a Activation Key from a Product ID given when the software is installed?

If it is a retail version, contact Microsoft at (800) 360-7561, or, if
outside the U.S., see this site: http://microsoft.com/worldwide

If the software came preinstalled on your PC (OEM version), then you'll need
to contact the manufacturer for a replacement key.

The requirements for 2003 will be the same as for 2000 as detailed in the
KnowledgeBase article "How to Obtain a New Product Key for Office 2000
