activation

I have a Office XP proffessional Home Use edition. The wizard will not start
thus I can't activate. I found something about it online and it said remove
any prvious installations. My computer camer with Works and Word - I removed
all that and it still won't activate. At this point everytime I want to work
in Excel I have to reinstall and it's getting annoyinmg - any thought anyone.
