actual cost versus actual cost of work performed

Why is there a variance between actual cost and actual cost of work performed
which is used in evm metrics?

Actual Cost - total cost booked to the task including future activities (although
really, if cost has been booked, it shouldn't be in the future)

ACWP - Total cost to date...you will see as you move the Project Status Date
(Project>Project Information), the ACWP will change depending on what costs
have been incurred prior to the Status Date.

Moving the Status Date will not change the Actual Cost field.
