I'm testing entering actuals in Project.
Scenario:
1. Plan has assignments and is baselined.
2. 1st Project Activity Starts 1/3 and ends 1/24. I am entering progress by
entering Actual Work at the Task Level.
3. 192 Hours are allocated to the Activity
4. 2 Resources are allocated to the Activity (1 @ 100% the other @ 50%)
5. I set the status date to 1/7
6. I enter 70 hours of Actual Work.
I expected project to allocate the 70 hours to the 1/3 - 1/7 date range by
increasing the actual worked hours on the assignments according to the
distribution.
Instead, project allocated the additional work to 1/10.
Is there a way to force Project to automatically allocate the additional
time, above the baselined values, worked through the status date and not
beyond it?
I know that I can enter time at the assignment level, but I want to avoid
that level of detail for the time being.
Thanks
Troy
