ACWP ?

Fawaz

I have the following case:
Task Name : Installation
Duration: 6d
Start Date: Mon 13/02/06
End Date:
Base line Cost: 10,000 $
Status Date: Tue 14/02/06
Resources: No Resources assigned

What is the deference between the two fields ACWP and Actual Cost?
My observation is that: when the % Complete (Task Progress in gantt chart)
less than the statues date line (in gantt chart) both ACWP and Actual Cost
are same value. But when the progress exceeds the statues date line (in gantt
chart), ACWP gave figures that I couldn’t understand.

e.g.Based in the given information in the top
% Complate 20% Actual Cost= 4,000 ACWP =4,000
% Complate 30% Actual Cost= 5,000 ACWP =5,000
% Complate 45% Actual Cost= 6,000 ACWP = 5,222.22

So, What is ACWP, how is it calculated and what is the explaination for the
last given figure

Any help are appreciated
Thanks.

First some clarifications are needed. With no resources assigned where are
your cost and work values coming from? When you say the task is 20% or 30
% or 45% complete, where are those numbers coming from? % complete refers
to duration and it's impossible for a 6 day task to be 45% complete as of
the end of the second day - that's at most 33.33% complete at the status
date cutoff. Any value you've input over 33% complete should give you an
ACWP and BCWP both of $3333.33 - that what it does on mine when I try to
duplicate your scenario. 20% should give you $2000 and 30% should give you
$3000. Then it "flatlines" at $3333.33 for any higher values of % complete
over 33%.
