can i add a header to be printed with document (e.g. file name)?

a standard .txt file has this option in print preferences, not found in any
office software, i need it for printing a scanned book which contains no page
numbers

You will have to bring an image into a program for you to be able to add page
numbers. The Picture Manager won't do it...
In Word, view, header and footer. Or insert, page numbers.

Word: Menu "View - Headers and footers". You can then insert fields for
file name, author, etc.
Excel: Menu "File - Print format". Select the headers/footers tab

I don't know if there's an easy way with Frontpage, Publisher,
Powerpoint and Access (should be sraightforward in Publisher, but I
haven't used the app. much). You can add the desired info manually into
documents, slides/templates and reports, but that's probably not what
you want...
