Adding a column in Excel

I have a spreadsheet with columns A to IV...when I try to
add another column I get an error message that will not
allow me to enter in another column. Is there a
limitation to the number of columns you can have in a
spreadsheet?

Hi Sandy,

Column IV is the last column you can have since the first version of Excel.

In the unlikely event that you need more than 256 columns and no more than
256 rows you could TRANSPOSE rows and columns.

Yes, you have reached the limit. One way to get around it is to use another sheet.

The limit is 256 columns, which is A through IV

That's all you get.
