Adding a delay / lag in an activity that has started

I am using MS Project Professional 2003. How do I add a delay in an activity
that has already started so that the actual duration of the activity does not
include the period that the activity was delayed?

Hello Dale,

Have you tried :

Select the task in question then,

Tools / Tracking / Update Project / Reschedule uncompleted work to start
after.... (set a date)
Click the "Selected tasks" option
OK

Dale,

You will want to check your options to ensure that the "split
in-process tasks" is selected. This can be found in the Schedule tab
under Tools=> Options.

You can also right-click the bar associated with the task and select
Split Task and drag the ends of the split to match your delay.

I hope this helps you.
