I am working in publisher to design a web site and we would like to add drop
down menus off our navigation bar, is that possible and how?

Not without a whole world of pain and suffering. You don't want to go there.

In fact, you don't really want to use Publisher for your website at all.
Consider using a real website application like Expression Web (Microsoft
product, costs money) or the free software Nvu (www.nvu.com).

To elaborate on what Ed says:

You will have to use a 3rd party program to create the menus, and it
will probably take quite a bit of trial and error to get it completely
correct, but it can be done. Search DynamicDrive.com for different scripts.

One thing to consider, though. There is a concern that many search
engines will not follow links that are in javascript menus - meaning a
vast majority of your site may not be spidered and indexed. If you are
determined to use drop down menus, you should also consider a text only
line of links.

Lastly, to paraphrase the web guru's (David F.) advice - if you have
questions about web design, you should post them in the
microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign NG.
