adjusting printable margin

I am printing 4.5 x 5 landscape oriented notecards.
Nothing will print near the edges. I followed the
instructions for finding out what your printer's non
printable margins are and entered those values in the
margin guides of the layout guides dialogue box, but it
makes no difference. In other layout programs I just
adjust those margins and print to the edge. What do I do?
I am new to publisher. Thanks for any input.

Firstly, always post the version of Windows and Publisher you are using.
You also do not tell us what brand, model and type of printer you are using.

Inkjet printers can have up to 16mm margins and laser printers generally
have 8mm margins.

Can you post a blank Publisher file setup the way you have it for your 118mm
x 126mm page so we can check the set-up.

Oh, sorry. I am on Win XP using an HP 930C deskjet, and
Pub 2003. I know my printer has unprintable margins
(wordpad- page setup -margins set to zero in landscape
orientation, L=.13,R=.516,top .51, bottom .25) but I can't
make the margins that small in Publisher even when I copy
those figures into Margin Guides dialogue box. Also, if I
am printing 2 cards per page, how do I keep the unprinted
margins even on both cards when the unprintable area is
not equal on both sides of the page?

Changing the locations of the layout guides in Publisher doesn't do
anything. You will need to check that your document lies within the guides.
If your document still doesn't print, your printer driver may be
misreporting your margins (from the sound of your margins in your other
post, they sound pretty screwy)
