Adminstrative Time template

Paul Linscott

Hi,

I just recently setup Project 2003 Enterprise. I modified some of the
Enterprise Global template settings. I did not (to my knowledge) create or
modify a view named Gantt Chart.
Keeping this in mind. I copied the Administrative Time template and added
some new tasks. After I saved and reopened the Administrative Time project, I
get the following message:
The enterprise global already contains a view named "Gantt Chart". Do you
want to replace the view with the one from the enterprise global, replace all
items with duplicate names, rename the view in the project, or cancel opening
the project.

When I choose Replace, I get the following message:
There is a table named &Entry in this project which cannot be overwritten.
Press OK to rename it, or press Cancel to cancel opening the project.

My questions are:
1) how do I get rid of the Gantt chart view in the Enterprise Global. I did
not create it, nor did I create a new Gantt chart view in the Administrative
template. This was proven by saving the Administrative template as a project
without doing any modifications. The same messages/problems appear.

2) By getting rid of the Gantt chart view in the Global template, will I
still get the &entry table conflict? Are they connected in some way?

thx

Paul

Open the Enterprise Global template and do the following:

1. Click Tools - Organizer
2. In the list on the right, delete any non-enterprise Views such as the
Gantt Chart view (DO NOT delete the Enterprise Gantt Chart)
3. Click the Tables tab
4. In the list on the right, delete any non-enterprise Tables such as the
Entry table (DO NOT delete the Enterprise Entry table)
5. Click the Close button
6. Save and close the Enterprise Global file
7. Exit and then relaunch Microsoft Project Professional

This will solve your problem with both the Gantt Chart view and Entry table.
Hope this helps.
