After uninstalling Office Vista trial, Office 2003 is not working

I downloaded the trial version of Windows Vista and didn't like it, so I
uninstalled it. I have Windows XP on my work computer, but I didn't install
it, I'm not sure who did, and I don't know the serial number. It seems that
when I uninstalled Vista I lost important files for running office, and it
even gives me an error message when I run internet explororer. I think that
reinstalling office will fix the problem, but I'm not sure how to find the
serial number so that when I reinstall it, I don't have to pay for it all
over again.
thank you very much,
Jennifer

Hi, desperate,

Do you have a CD or DVD for Office? If you look on the case you should see a
product key.

If that doesn't work, you will need to post back with exactly the errors you
are receiving. You might also want to try posting to one of the Windows
newsgroups, since Internet Explorer is also not functioning as you would
expect and that is not likely a problem with Office 2003.
