AHrd drive noise

When I access a file in any office product, i get a hard
drive noise (consistent from appl. to appl.) and then no
problems. PC manufacturer says it is OS. I ran a check
with XP Pro - no errors. I ran a check with Office XP -
said it fixed errors. Still makes sound at file Open or
click on folder to open file.

If you know the make of yr hd - Control Panel/system/hardware may help -
check the hd manuf. site to see if they have a hd checking utility.
The o/s has nothing to do with hd noise! - other than causing hd to work!
