Alerts for tasks

Does Project have an alerting feature? For example, I have a task in Project
that is due on a certain date. I want to be alerted a few weeks before the
task due date. Is this possible? If so, how?

Alerts and reminders are a feature of Project Server 2002 and 2003. Hope
this helps.
