Alignment of Images Against Side or Margin

When images are aligned on the right or left, and "x" number of spaces are
added, the image is moved inward by that number of spaces. Is there a way to
keep the image against the side of the page and still create spaces on the
"inner" side?

In image properties set the wrapping style or alignment to left. Also
set the Horizontal spacing and vertical spacing to a value that suits
your design - using the space bar to form padding or margins is not
good design, since changing the font face or size (which every user
can do) will change those margins.

Alternatively, lay out the page with tables.

Ron, when I responded earlier, I didn't realize that the instructions you
gave were identical to the normal procedure of aligning an image to the left
or right. I was referring to the fact that images, though they are close to
the side, are not AGAINST the side - they are indented a little bit. That's
the problem I am trying to correct.

Thanks.

Set margins for the page and the image.
<p><img border="0" src="images/imagename.jpg" width="271" height="213"
align="left" style="margin:0 10px 4px 0;">Here is some demonstration
text.</p>

With the page margins set to 0, the image is flush with the edge of
the page (in Preview and Preview in modern browsers), with a 10px
margin between it and any text alongside it. (4px for text beneath the
image using this example).
In Design view (and Netscape 4.79), there is a small gap (2px) between
the image and page edge

The side of what...table or page?:

table - set cell padding to zero in table properties
page - set margin to 0 in page properties
