All my "My Documents" files have disappeared

I would appreciate any wisdom on how to find and restore all my files. For
no apparent reason, there are suddenly no documents (Word, Excel, pictures,
etc.) in my "My Documents" folder. I've tried running a search for all .doc
files on my C drive, but that only turns up a few temp files and some
downloaded documents.

Help!?

I see 3 folders: My Pictures (which is empty), My Music (also empty except
for an Internet folder with 2 audio files in it) and Image Expert Images
(also empty). That's all.

Did you happen to create a new user?? If so then the My Documents
folder is specific to the profile you are using when you are logged
on.

If I did, I didn't do it on purpose. Maybe one of my kids did it
accidentally? How would I determine if someone created a new user on my PC?

What version of Windows are you using? Do you log in? If so are you
logging in as different user?
