Aminating Objects

Is there a way to make several object appear simulatenously? I want to
enlarge part of a document from a document that I already put in power point.
An example of what I want to do is like on the new when they pull excerpt
from a document, or an enlarge part of a map showing more detail.

I set the anmation to occur automatically after 00:00 seconds after the each
other, but there is still a delay. How do I cut that delay out?

Are you using PowerPoint 2000 and below?

Try this:
Select the two objects.
On the drawing toolbar, click Draw > Group.
Animate it now.

Srineheart,
What version of PPT do you have?
If you have PPT2002/2003 just set your animation(s) to animate with
previous. Activate your custom animation task pane, select the animation(s)
and set them to with previous.

"I set the anmation to occur automatically after 00:00 seconds after the

other, but there is still a delay. How do I cut that delay out?"

Sounds like you are setting the transition time of the slide itself. Maybe
you have different slides, each adding something new on each transition. Is
that the case.

I'm using Windows XP Professional 2002. It won't let me select more than one
object. And Group is not available, I can see the option, but I cannot
select it.

I don't have the option to "animate with previous"; I only have start
animation..."on mouse click" and "automatically,"

srinehart,
Ohh, I see you have PPT 97/2000. In that case you won't be able to produce
what you are after without the delay you are experiencing. If you group the
objects like has been suggested you will be able to animate them
simultaneously. Unfortunately you will not be able to group say a
placeholder with text and an AutoShape like a circle, then the option to
group will be greyed out. In any case select the objects using the technique
Steve described, group them and animate accordingly.

Srinehart,
If you do have version 2002/2003 but do not see the custom animation task
pane and get the old dialog, go to Tools - options - edit tab - see if there
is a check next to show new animations in the last section of the dialog if
so remove it. That should give you the task pane where you can animate
objects simultaniously.
